History

Kadambagachi Banglar Karusilpa Unnayan Sanstha was officially established on 21st May 2014, with registration under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961. The organization was founded by a committed group of local artisans from Kadambagachi village in North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal, who shared a common goal to empower rural communities, especially women and economically weaker sections, through skill development and livelihood generation.

The NGO began its journey at the grassroots level by forming Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and conducting training in jute craft, a sustainable and eco-friendly industry native to West Bengal. As demand for handcrafted jute products grew, so did the organization’s reach. Over time, Kadambagachi Sanstha expanded its programs to include tailoring, soft toy making, embroidery, jewelry making, food processing, and more, spreading its impact to districts like Hooghly, Jalpaiguri, Barasat, and South 24 Parganas.

With a strong focus on women’s empowerment, education, health awareness, and nutrition, the NGO has touched thousands of lives by promoting self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and community development. It has also established marketing outlets and participated in government exhibitions to support artisans with market access.

Today, Kadambagachi Banglar Karusilpa Unnayan Sanstha stands as a beacon of social upliftment, nurturing local talent and promoting inclusive growth. Its history is built on dedication, compassion, and a vision for a better, more equitable society.
