A design development program was conducted in Bagda for 25 days, with 30 trainees participating. After the design development, an intelligence gathering program was conducted to collect customer feedback. This program was held for one week at the Sristishree outlet. Starting September 2025, the initiative aims to train over 100 rural women in the production of high-quality jute products like eco-friendly handbags, braided mats, jewelry, and home décor items. Expert trainers will guide participants through advanced techniques, design innovation, and marketing strategies. This program also includes exposure visits to markets and workshops on setting up micro-enterprises. The initiative is part of the Sanstha’s ongoing effort to promote women’s entrepreneurship and eco-friendly craftsmanship, aligning with India’s vision for sustainable rural development. The program is already seeing enthusiastic participation and strong community support.

Completed Projects

Kadambagachi Banglar Karusilpa Unnayan Sanstha has successfully completed several impactful projects aimed at rural development, women empowerment, skill training, education, and healthcare in West Bengal. Our completed initiatives include jute craft training for over 500 women, promoting eco-friendly alternatives to plastic and supporting sustainable livelihoods. We have organized tailoring, embroidery, and soft toy-making programs, enabling women to start home-based businesses. Our free coaching center at Baduria has helped underprivileged children improve their learning outcomes. We conducted health awareness camps, distributing hygiene kits and educating communities on disease prevention. Under the Kanyashree Prakalpa scheme, we trained adolescent girls in various crafts, preparing them for economic independence. Environmental projects such as jute bag production and waste management awareness drives were also successfully implemented. These projects reflect our commitment to building self-reliant, skilled, and healthy communities through inclusive and sustainable development.

Success Stories

At Kadambagachi Banglar Karusilpa Unnayan Sanstha, our mission comes to life through the inspiring success stories of individuals who have transformed their lives with support from our programs. These stories are a testament to the impact of our work in the areas of skill development, women empowerment, education, and livelihood generation.

One shining example is Rekha Mondal from Baduria, North 24 Parganas. After completing our jute craft and bag-making training, Rekha launched her own small business producing eco-friendly bags. Today, she not only earns a sustainable income but also employs two other women from her community.

Another success is Mamata Das, a participant in our tailoring and stitching training. She has now become a self-reliant entrepreneur, stitching garments for local clients and training young girls in her village, multiplying the impact of our work. Raju Sarkar, a student from our free coaching center, overcame educational barriers and passed his secondary exams with flying colors. He is now preparing for competitive exams, aiming for a government job.

Under the Kanyashree Prakalpa Scheme, many adolescent girls received vocational training in jute jewelry, embroidery, and soft toy making, some of whom are now selling their handcrafted products online and at local markets. These success stories reflect our dedication to sustainable development, women-led growth, and empowering the next generation. Each life changed is a step toward a stronger, self-reliant community.
